Both Classes:
Some of you may have trouble accessing the school website. The web address has changed.
To get to the Millard West Home Page go to: http://mps.mwhs.schoolfusion.us/
AP Language:
- For Thursday:
- Read “The Chase”-Dillard in the Bedford. Annotate thoroughly and carefully.
- Register for my class on the Bedford site at: Bedford St. Martins
- When you register, use your Gaggle email, set your Millard Tech ID as your password, use macatron@mpsomaha.org as “instructor’s email”. Failure to do this will cause you not to receive credit for your quizzes.
- Take the Quiz over “The Chase”
- Read and annotate the class Syllabus.
Creative Writing:
- For Thursday:
- Appliance Poem:
- After reading the poem I should know what your appliance likes and dislikes, what motivates it, what it hopes for. Try to speak in terms your appliance would use.
Poem must be 80-120 words in length.
Type and print your poem according to MLA guidelines.
- For Friday:
- Bring a character visual:
- Bring an anonymous image to class. You can bring a photograph, an image from a magazine or catalog, or an image you find on the internet. The person in the image should not be famous or otherwise not known to your classmates. Find something interesting.

Well I guess I’d better get “use” (the word is “used”, by the way future seniors–it’s an adjectival form of the verb use modifying the noun-functioning infinitive “to it”) to not having you as students, though I’ll probably still see some of you in the halls. This has been a good year for me as a teacher. My 4 AP sections, you know who you are, all had very different personalities which provided me with a wealth of challenges. I think you have all helped me become a better teacher and I appreciate the time you took to provide me with constructive feedback. Have a good summer, and to my AP Langers: Remember, everything is an argument and you can never “over-analyze” anything. Creative Writers: Stories happen in moments and it’s always better to “show” than “tell.”
I’ve enjoyed teaching this year, and I might keep at it for a while. Thank you for your attention, your hard work, and your patience.
